Augusta makes a scene with Lionel, showing him to have a connection with Eden. She then goes to Peter's office where she has a conversation with him. Joe is taken hunting in forest by Peter, armed with a rifle. Gina must go away to Los Angeles. In spite of the disapproval of CC, Santana insists that she trusts Brandon with her during these a few days. Warren comes to recover the gold coins which it has stolen from the Capwells and which Kelly and Ted recovered. But Kelly refuses to return them to him and goes on accusing him of Channing Jr's murder which would have any overdraft on the stealing by Warren. Forced by Warren, she is helped by Ted. She then receives a telephone call from Dominic which appears not to be with the current of the appointment that he would have fixed with Joe. Kelly understands that it is acted in fact of a trap. At the time when she finds Peter and Joe in forest, a brawl begins between the two men during which a shot resounds suddenly...

Peter is wounded. The police arrive on the spot and stops Joe while Peter is led to the hospital. In the ambulance, he starts to entrust to Kelly about the evening when Channing Jr was killed when he loses consciousness suddenly. Going through the mountains, Ted continues after Warren's horse, who recovered the gold coins. Finally Lionel goes on the tombstone of Sophia and decides to say the truth to Eden on what arrived to him. He asks Eden to join him there and starts to speak to her when they are both surprised by Augusta who flees while running. Cruz is in the office of a seismologist when suddenly the seismic measuring apparatus panics. Mason joined Santana and both are acknowledged to have difficult moments. After a dance to "No More Lonely Nights" by Paul McCartney, Santana asks Mason to spend the night with her. The following day, Mason goes to the bedside of Peter and threatens him to charge him for the murder of Channing Jr. But the threat of force is reversed when Peter makes him recognize that he risks much if CC learns that although he knew that Joe was innocent, he did not do do everything to get him out of prison. It is also the Thanksgiving Day. All the Capwells (except Kelly) are joined together at the residence, still in the process of reconstruction after the earthquake. Cruz learns by telephone that the parents of Matt, Frank and Barbara, were found. They arrive by helicopter and thank Eden. Mr. Bottoms continues his plan by reserving a room at the motel held by Ted, Laken, Jade and Danny. But Jade makes the error of renting the same room with a call-girl, which is close to leading Bottoms to the heart attack when he re-enters in the room! Lastly, Mason and Kelly have a discussion at the hospital. She says to him she hates that he has kept Joe's innocence a secret and above all despite everything to have instituted proceedings against him.

Television informs of the rehabilitation of Joe. Augusta fears that Warren is not now worried by the police. Disguised as a doctor, he returns visit to Peter to the hospital and asks him information on what he knows of the murder of Channing Jr. On his side, Lionel receives a call from Dominic which gives him an appointment on the tombstone of Sophia. Before his arrival, he seeks the gold coins that he had hidden there. But it is in fact Dominic who has them in his possession. He tells him the guilty knowledge of the murder of Channing. A police officer, in the search of May Thomas the owner of the hotel, discovers Mr. Bottoms in the room with the prostitute. Ted saves the setting to him by telling with the police officer that Bottoms was there to remove the two old bandits hidden in the part next to the room and who are stopped. CC shows Santana to attend Mason with an only aim of approaching Brandon. Lastly, Kelly tries to telephone the prosecutor to denounce Mason, but it is stopped by him. She tells him she is becoming persuaded that he is the murderer of Channing Jr...

Worrying about being able to join Santana on the telephone, C.C. goes to her and shows Mason there to have killed Channing Jr. The two men fight until Santana, armed with a kitchen knife, makes come out Mason of force...

Santana joined Gina and Brandon in Mesa to tell them all the truth before Mason does it. But Gina is called on the telephone by Mason. Santana, in tears, prefers to leave the bar. At the museum, Summer flees when Warren tries to embrace her. It is on the beach where she has come to take refuge that the memories of a man beating and raping her return in her head. When Warren joined her, she feels decided with all to tell him. Rosa, then Danny, discover that Santana packed her bags, decided to leave the city. After a new dispute with CC, Mason finds Gina and Brandon in Mesa, but is shown finally unable to tell them the truth. He goes to Santana to excuse himself of his behavior and finds the letter that she left him before leaving. Once returning to his place, he reads the letter of good-byes and pours some tears.

Eden takes diving classes with Cruz in the idea to approach the Amanda Lockridge. Veronica hastens to inform Lionel of it. Mason, which does his businesses remained at the Capwell residence, is joined by Eden. She speaks to him in praise of the monstrosity of their father. CC, which listens to them, stops them to tell them that Peter has just come out of his coma. Lionel and Augusta question themselves to know who Minx pays it to manage her business. Still in San Francisco, Amy decides to call Jeff and tells him that she is pregnant with his baby. He arrives little time afterwards in their hotel room and refuses to believe it. Jeff is knocked down to the ground by Brick when he accuses Amy of lying. Lionel makes his men stop the woman who tried to plunge towards the Amanda Lockridge. He discovers with astonishment that it is Eden. Augusta is confused why Brick can from now on be the accountant of Minx. Mason, which fears that Peter might speak with the police, orders that nobody approaches his room. After a fallen through attempt at seduction at Veronica, he goes to the hospital and makes Peter come out. When CC arrives, it is too late: Peter already left by ambulance towards an unknown destination with Mason at his side.

Lionel and Elizabeth carefully put the fake log back in the safe, and get the divers to bring some of her faked pictures to the Amanda Lockridge too in order to fake great findings aboard the ship. Warren is looking all over for Summer. Dominic tells Kelly that Mason is innocent and Peter is a liar; he never saw anything the night Channing Jr was killed. C.C. threatens to pull his financial support from the museum if they allow Lionel to open the safe there in front of several reporters. Eden tries to convince Lionel to let her dive with him but he refuses. At the press conference, Peter frees Mason of all the charges. C.C. and Kelly don't believe him and think he's made a bargain with Mason. Mason later tells Peter that he won't get the quarter of his heritage because C.C. disinherited him after Peter pointed the finger at Mason earlier. Warren and Lionel dive and bring up the safe and crates.

Neither Laken nor Minx want to attend the opening of the safe. Warren forces Gina to tell him that Summer has gone back to L.A. but she won't reveal why she has left. Kelly suffers from headaches. Dominic is present at the museum; posing as a cameraman. She calls Mason anonymously; pretending to be the wife of a fired Lockridge gardener, and informs him that the stolen gold coins are in the Lockridge mansion. Mason has the police search the entire mansion and they find the coins in Lionel's briefcase.

Mason and the police find newspaper articles on Channing Jr's murder in Lionel's desk. At the museum, the crates are opened and the paintings uncovered. Elizabeth verifies them as real and extremely valuable. Laken and Ted show up to warn Lionel about Mason. Mason himself arrives with the police. Augusta, Lionel, Warren and Laken are discussing what to do while Dominic films them unnoticed. A furious C.C. goes over to the museum after seeing most of his children there on TV. The safe is finally opened and Lionel takes out the priceless artifacts, the Chinese puzzle box and the log book. Warren tells Gina how much he loves Summer and she finally tells him the whole tragic truth about how Summer was raped. Warren still wants to wait until she is well enough to see him again because he loves her so much he's willing to wait for her. Laken thinks Ted tipped Mason about the coins when she finds out he already knew Warren took them. Lionel reads the final entry in the log book; blaming Nathaniel Capwell for sinking the Amanda Lockridge. Just then Mason strikes; having Lionel arrested.

Lionel is brought to jail. He and Augusta agree to not say anything about Warren having taken the coins. C.C. is pleased with the situation but he still hasn't changed his mind about Mason. Joe and Kelly celebrate their first Christmas together and Mason shows up to inform them of Lionel's arrest. Kelly and Joe tell him that Lionel gave Sophia the coins; they were having an affair and Channing Jr found out about it. Mason thinks Lionel killed Channing Jr to hide the affair but Kelly still thinks Mason did it. C.C. puts weight on the museum to get to see the log book but Augusta sets up a 24 hour guard to stop him from getting his hands on it. Dominic calls Mason again and says she saw Lionel leave the Capwell mansion the day Channing Jr was killed and that he was wearing the same tuxedo then as he is this day. Lionel's tux is searched and well hidden inside it is the bloodstained note Dominic planted there. The blood turns out to be the same blood type as Channing Jr's and Mason learns the woman that's been tipping him about Lionel isn't the Lockridge gardener's wife. Ted and Laken make up. Augusta comes to the prison and has a romantic dinner with Lionel.

C.C. requests of Cruz to re-enter for his account in the office of Lionel to the museum, but Cruz refuses this task. Finally, he accepts when Eden requests it of him. Disguised as a sweeper, he accompanies Eden who succeeds in getting rid of the guards and to penetrate into the office. He opens there the log book of the Amanda Lockridge. After having tested with Cruz, Elizabeth launches out in a number of seduction at Brick. At the museum, witnesses of the scene, Amy and Jade prefer to return to them. Later, Amy announces to Brick her intention to live as an independent woman and that she does not have need for him. Augusta recovers the jacket which Warren carried the day of the death of Channing Jr in the dyer and Lionel undertakes to burn it in the chimney of the show. Lionel then requests from Warren precise details on his interview with Channing Jr that day. Warren tells him that Channing Jr exerted on him a blackmail about the gold coins which it had flights. Blackmail which that day resulted in seizing the revolver hidden in a drawer of the show.

Warren continues his history: at the time when he entered the office of C.C., Channing Jr was on the ground dying. Warren could hear only his last words: "Ferinmar". Lionel seems disturbed by hearing this name. As the guards returned posted in front of the entrance of the office of Lionel to the museum, Eden and Cruz find themselves trapped inside. Cruz begins to take photographs of the log book. Joe shows C.C. to be at the origin of the problems which he encountered with his work, which C.C. denies. Ted invites Laken to join him in a Capwell Hotel room for New Year's Eve dinner. But caught cold and feverish, he lies down and falls asleep, leaving Laken only in front of the television. Danny invites Jade to leave at once to Mammoth to ski. But their car breaks down in middle of the night in the medium from the fir trees. For the midnight dinner, whereas Gina invite C.C. with a romantic dance at the Capwell residence, Augusta and Lionel prefer a delirious sparkling of a champagne bath! Kelly leads Joe in a church and makes him the surprise of having organized their marriage. But Joe refuses to marry Kelly hastily. At the museum, Eden profits that Cruz fell asleep on an armchair to recover the films of his camera, to jump by the window and, while slipping by, to push a cry to alert the guards before launching a "Happy New Year!" to Cruz..

Lionel and Augusta understand that the note found in the pocket of the jacket of Warren was in fact intended to trap not Warren but Lionel. He then suspects Dominic of being the instigator of this trap. Wishing to meet Kelly who will be able to lead him to Dominic, Lionel goes to the Eden's office and obliges her to call Kelly to fix an appointment to him. Feeling sick, Kelly must first however go to the hospital. The doctor diagnoses her with a simple case of stress. Elizabeth goes to Cruz and shows him, following the description of the guards, to have penetrated the office of Lionel to the museum. Eden goes to Sandra, her photographer, to seek the pictures of the films which it has taken from Cruz. But she learns that Cruz already came to recover them. She unloads then at his place. In the confrontation, Eden and Cruz embrace themselves, but Cruz ends up putting Eden out the door when Elizabeth emerges again. Lionel finds the trace of Dominic. He waits until he comes out of his home with his bags which he prepared and jumps on him...

Mason reveals to Ted the affair that Sophia and Lionel maintained, then tells Eden and C.C. He asks Eden if she thinks that this affair could be possible. Mason claims C.C. is responsible for the death of Channing Jr owing to the fact that the affair of Sophia with Lionel was mainly due to his behavior: Sophia would have indeed complained about the lack of attention from C.C. and his too frequent absences caused by his work. He takes it as proof a unsuccessful request for divorce that Sophia had started one year before his death. Upon hearing this, C.C. is getting angry and Ted leaves C.C.'s office. Brick tries to convince Amy whom it holds with it and with the baby. Little after his departure, Amy receives the surprise visit of Jackie Parks, an old friend from school. Jackie is now married to an officer of Navy and desires to wait with Amy until the baby is born. At Dominic's, Lionel discovers a note comprising several figures. It understands that it is a ticket of a train, the Victoria express train bound for Chicago. He ends up finding Dominic in the restaurant car and surprises him once the conductor has left. Dominic runs away in direction of the gate and, in the brawl, seems to fall from the train. Lionel, taken of panic, draws the alarm bell.

Upon awaking the next morning, Peter has forgotten about the evening before. He learns of Barbara's death on the television news which reminds him of the murder. He goes to La Mesa and and is questioned by Sergeant Clifford T. Monroe, who is intrigued by Peter's nervous behavior. At the Capwell residence, C.C. discovers a note from Ted who writes that he has left town with Laken. Eden tells him that Ted being only seventeen years old, is especially acting by impulsiveness and that he should not worry. C.C. receives then a visit from Kelly who announces to him that she has decided to marry Joe with or without his consent. Amy introduces Jackie to Brick and all the three drink in Mesa where they are joined by Elizabeth. She returns a little later visit to Brick in the Lockridge garage and tries to seduce Brick, but he resists her advances. Lionel wakes up aboard the caravan of the Luigi circus by three people: the Loretta old woman, a dwarf and a strongman. They sympathize with him and, after playing cards, leave Lionel at the station where he succeeds in boarding Victoria Express train where Sophia and Marcello still are. Lionel waits until Sophia left her compartment and, wearing the jacket of an employee of the train, penetrates in the cabin and knocks down Marcello. Whereas she dives again with Cruz to approach the Amanda Lockridge, Eden nearly drowns and is brought up unconscious onto the boat by Cruz...

Eden quickly regains consciousness. Cruz commits himself to locate against the office of the Amanda Lockridge 50% of what it contains. After searching the library, he ends up finding its trace in an old antique dealer. Eden joined him, but they do not find anything in the drawers. Cruz then seizes an axe to open the office into two and to find what it hides. Kelly is questioned by Sergeant Monroe sergeant about Barbara. He makes her breathe a perfume found on her. Kelly says it is not the usual perfume of Barbara, but still recognizes the smell. Summer is back from Los Angeles. Gina tells her that they are convening at the office of Mason in the afternoon. During the interrogation, Summer denies to know anything concerning Warren and the gold coins. She falls suddenly on a photograph of Barbara laying on the ground, panics and leaves the office precipitately. C.C. invites Kelly and Joe to the Capwell residence and proposes to Joe to work for him. But Joe takes this offer like a tactic to buy Kelly. In front of the incomprehension of Kelly, he rises and leaves the room. On board Victoria Express train, Sophia finds an unconscious Marcello in his compartment when Lionel emerges behind it. He follows her to the restroom and accuses her of being the origin of the flow of evidence showing him guilty of the murder of Channing Jr. He in addition continues to protest his innocence to her. Sophia finally seems to doubt his certainty in front of such an amount of eagerness. During this time, a sheriff joined the train and traverses the coaches in the search of Lionel, wanted in all California. When Lionel leaves the restroom, it is taken in hunting by the sheriff who starts to draw on him through the coach. Lionel then can't do anything else other than jump from the running train...

Lionel escaped the policeman who shot behind him in the Orient Express. Mason is now quite sure that Lionel is guilty for the murder of Channing Jr. Mason asks Gina if she could ask Summer Blake, her sister, to come to see him. He hopes to get some information in Lionel's case. C.C. offers Gina his helicopter to bring Summer from LA where she is undergoing treatment for the damage she got when being beaten and raped by Hank. Summer shows herself not very cooperative. She does not want to bring Warren in difficulties and told nothing to Mason. When she sees the picture of the murdered waitress between the papers of Mason she jumps up and runs away. Gina finds her and they have a talk until Warren appears. Warren is very happy to see her and he tells her that he missed her so much and he will wait for her till her therapy is over. He also tells her that she can freely tell Mason whatever she knows. He accompanies her back to Mason who is staying in the presidential suite in C.C.'s hotel. Kelly is also there. Peter Flint is watching all of them in the room behind the mirror coming in strange conditions when seeing Kelly. All of a sudden the phone rings and Mason is informed that they caught Lionel. Warren rushes with Mason to the police station just to find out that it was only the tramp who has changed his clothes and passport with Lionel when Lionel was lying unconsciousness after falling out of the train. Meanwhile Kelly and Summer go for a drink. Summer asks Kelly to tell Mason nothing what Warren could bring in difficulties as she knows that Warren is free of guilt. Kelly refuses this kind of service and goes away leaving her alone in the restaurant. Meanwhile Peter who was following them and hiding himself behind a newspaper while sitting at another table gets again his strange conditions taking Summer for Kelly. He goes out of the restaurant and comes quickly in again when Summer wants to go. He tells her that he is a friend of Warren who was just having an accident and she should quickly come with him, he will drive her in his car to Warren. While driving Peter gets a strange expression. Summer asks him where they are going. Peter gives her a white carnation.

Peter comes into the Lamaza (?) and sees that Kelly is not there. He hides himself behind the pillow and phones to the Lamaza while watching how the other waitress is taking the phone. He tells her that he is Joe the friend of Kelly and if she kindly could tell her when she comes that he has forgotten his toolbox in the warehouse where he was working before and if she could fetch it for him. Kelly comes with Eden. Eden tells her that she does not like Gina's approach to C.C. Gina also comes all of a sudden introducing all her plans for the wedding arrangements. The waitress all of a sudden remembers the phone call and she informs Kelly. Kelly says that she is having an interview in her break time and she will be not able to fetch it. Eden tells her that she will do the job for her and takes the notice with the address of the warehouse. Sophia dressed as a journalist made an appointment with Kelly for an interview about the relationship of prominent daughters to their father. Now she comes and talks to Kelly. When they are nearly finished with their interview Joe wants to talk to Kelly on the phone. By then they find out that he phoned for the first time and the toolbox was a trap. Kelly gets excited and runs to the warehouse. Meanwhile Peter was hiding himself in the warehouse. When Eden came and opened the toolbox finding a white carnation he knocked her down.

Peter binds a towel over Eden's eyes and one over her mouth. He binds her hands with a rope and places her on the front seat next to him. He is absolutely sure that he has Kelly. Kelly comes to the warehouse and finds with the police and Cliff only Eden's shawl and the white carnation. Cruz had previously decided not to join Cliff in the search of the carnation killer. When Cliff calls him to the warehouse and shows him the shawl of Eden he changes his mind and wants to help. Mason does not want to take Cruz. Cruz is giving him a phone number of his secret bosses. When Mason hears that Cruz is working in the spying department he takes him at once and they start to send out troopers in search for Eden. Mason phones to Veronica who is just cleaning his wounds. He wants to make an appointment with her, but she asks him to meet her another time. Mason hears a male voice in the background.

Lionel phones to Augusta to place some things for him outside at the house at the mailbox. He reads the newspapers and finds out by this that Sophia is in the hotel. Sophia is very desperate because of Eden. She gets in some dispute with Marcello. Lionel hides behind the mirror and is listening to them. He wonders who this Marcello is. Marcello gets upset and told Sophia that he will leave her alone and went away. Sophia is sitting before the mirror preparing unmasking herself. Lionel gets visions from their old days together. Marcello comes back. He has been at the police between the journalists and found out that Eden disappeared with the carnation killer. He goes out again. Lionel takes his chance and knocks at the door and offers a newspaper with a changed voice. Sophia uses the door chain before opening and is shocked to see Lionel.

Peter brings Eden to a place in the woods and takes her out. The moment he touches her she starts to beat him with her bound hands. He starts to strangle her but she falls down a steep slope and lies there without moving.

Peter goes back to Eden. The big letters of HELP makes him very nervous. He runs down and makes them invisible. Then he searches for Eden in order to kill her. Eden has run in a circle and when she found her letters covered again her strength is going away and she falls down exhausted. Peter stands already over her with a lady sock in his hand ready to kill her when he hears a helicopter. He leaves her behind and drives to the Lameza. Cruz gets informed that they have seen someone which might be Eden. Cruz takes a helicopter and finds Eden. He takes her to the hospital.

Joe is sitting with Kelly when he got called from his job work for some urgency. Kelly asks him to go alone. Laken comes and sits with her at the table. They start to have a chat when Peter comes and sits with them. Kelly gets shocked. Peter starts to talk very friendly with Laken. Kelly gets nervous and gets up. On the way to the phone she runs into Ted and asks him to take Laken quickly away without questioning her why. Ted does as she says. Peter is very pleased to sit with her alone and asks her to come with him into his flat. Kelly just wants to get up and inform Joe per phone when the waitress comes and informs her that they found Eden. Kelly jumps up and wants to run to see Eden. She meets Joe on the way out and takes him along.

Ted and Laken meet Lionel. Ted wants to know directly from him if he has killed Sophia. Lionel tells him his story, that Sophia fell overboard and he was unconscious in the boat. Laken is happy that her father did not kill Sophia.

Cruz sees Eden in the hospital and puts some questions to her. He is very soft and she is happy to see him.

Mason is upset about the way proofs were brought forward by Joe and what he thinks also Cruz being behind. At the end he tells Cruz that Eden has not been raped which gives some relief to Cruz.

Veronica visits Peter. She brings him some paper he might be happy for from her office where she is not working anymore. She talks with Peter about the carnation killer. She talks about the victims who were all known to her and also to him. She tells him that the waitress who was the first victim is also known to him as she has seen him in restaurant on the same day. She leaves some of the newspapers about the killer at his place. Peter gets afraid that she might tell something to the police. He just wants to kill her when the house owner is knocking at the door and Veronica goes away. Peter sees in the papers an announcement of a movie and gets an idea.

Meanwhile Sophia disguised as the journalist steps into the room of Eden to see if she is well. Eden wakes up and she starts to talk to her. They get interrupted by Joe and Kelly who tell Eden that she can go home already and Cruz will come to fetch her. All of a sudden somebody brings flowers for Eden. When Eden opens the note it turns out that the flowers were sent by Peter which makes Joe upset. While dressing, Eden gives her interview to Sophia about her relationship to her father. Joe and Kelly meet Veronica in the hospital hall. Veronica tells that she is just coming from Peter. Kelly takes her aside and advises her not to have to do anything to do with Peter as he might be the killer. Veronica first can't believe the words but when she is at home she phones to Mason to tell him that she has seen Peter in Lameza. Mason gives her no chance to tell him anything.

Peter meanwhile has got a ticket for the movie and finding Amy and Brick sitting there he starts to talk very friendly to Amy. The movie starts and Peter silently escapes through the toilet. Veronica tries to phone to Mason a second time when the door bell is ringing and Peter is standing there. She wants Peter to go away but he makes his way into her flat locking the door behind him. He pushes her into the bathroom where she had just prepared a bath. She presses unnoticed by Peter the tape recorder for recording their talk. Veronica notices that Peter is very confused in his mind when all of a sudden he shows her a white carnation. Cruz ends the interview through his presence. He starts to ask her some questions. She thinks from the touch that it must be a younger man. Cruz gives her a perfume to smell which she recognizes as the same the man wanted to spray on her.
