Cruz wires Nikki when she goes to meet Travis at the stables. She talks aloud (to the microphone) when Travis shows up. He tells Nikki they will take the horse to the mountains. Nikki makes funny gestures to Travis. Cruz calls Eden to tell her he's not able to come to talk to her as planned. Julia is surprised to hear that Eden hasn't slept with Robert. Julia learns from Michael that Mason had let Derek be arrested for stealing some blankets from the Capwell Hotel. Julia lets herself be arrested as well to spite Mason and she and Derek give Eden an interview. Eden refuses to interview Mason. Mason makes a remark about Michael's previous involvement with Julia in front of Greta and she asks Michael what that was about. Michael gives some vague explanation. Mason lets the police keep Julia in jail. Eden reproaches him, Mason tries to explain and Eden finally makes an interview with him. Julia and Derek talk in the slammer about her failed marriage. Mason lets himself be locked up in Julia's cell when Derek is taken to Ethan for questioning. Mason organises a ludicrous dinner in the cell which irritates Julia.

Ethan learns that Julia had been arrested as well. Julia pulls the table cloth away throwing everything on it at Mason. Ethan locks the door leaving Mason and Derek to sort things out. Mason writes a $ 10,000 cheque for the children and tells Derek to stay away from Julia. Laura tells Ethan that the shrink wants to see them both. She decides to start eating a lot and wonders who might be the lucky father. She calls on Michael and they wind up talking about the Leo case. Laura tells him her marriage is over. She calls on Ethan at his office and among other things asks whether his mother had had blond hair and learns that his mother had been an Italian. Nikki writes notes to Travis in the car so that Cruz wouldn't hear. They are forced to stop because of the bad weather. Travis makes a pass at her and finds the wire. Nikki hits him and Cruz enters. He arrests Travis and the latter tells him his boss' name but when Nikki and Cruz reach the cabin there's nobody there. They are hit by a snowfall and are forced to stay the night in the cabin. Nikki tells Cruz she'll leave SB soon. Mason goes to the centre and apologises to Michael who leaves him in charge of the soup-kitchen for a while. A man comes asking if they still had some overcoats and when Mason can't find any he gives him his own. Julia beholds that noble gesture.

Augusta organises an auction. Two main competitors in bidding for Dark Victor will be CC and Robert Barr. Julia goes to the auction and meets Mason. Eden hears that Cruz had got into an accident and goes to the cabin. Nikki tries to seduce Cruz but the latter doesn't give in. Nikki hugs him when saying goodbye. Eden witnesses the scene standing behind the window. Hunt makes Sasha write down her partner's name - Mason. Ric tells Robert that Hunt will move the casino to a new unknown place. Ric and Kelly go onto the boat. Robert fires Ric.

Robert tries to reach Cruz over the phone but is told that the latter is out of town. Mason calls Julia and tells her he wants to see Sam and five seconds later shows up at her door with a mobile phone. He gives Julia a present and is hurt when Julia rejects his gift without opening it. He tells her she should at least respect him. Julia answers that the only thing she doesn't have for Mason is respect. She throws him out at the moment Derek shows up to take her out. Ric tells Kelly tonight is the opening night of the casino. Cruz turns away from Nikki telling her he had felt as if Eden had been around. Eden tells CC and Greg she had seen Cruz. CC pays a visit to Cruz and finding him with Nikki they argue, Cruz yells at him and finally tells him Nikki is a cop. Ric calls on Kelly telling her something is up. Eden suddenly remembers she has to make a story about the auction. Augusta tells Sophia she will give 10 per cent of the profit on Dark Victor to the charity. Augusta makes acquaintence with Stephen. Robert comes to look for Kelly, but Sophia asks him to leave for CC and Cruz were supposed to come. Mason shows Julia the beautiful brooch he had wanted her to have and then tosses it into the pool. They kiss. Sasha interrupts and while alone with Mason tells him that Craig wants to see them both. CC overhears them and Mason explains that he is as deeply in the mess as Sasha. Both CC and Robert try to flatter Augusta by dancing with her. Bidding starts from $ 200,000. Robert's final offer is $ 1,700,000, and CC buys the horse for 2 million. Kelly and Ric overhear Sasha and Mason talking to Craig (on the boat). The latter tells them that someone is taking pictures and that he suspects Kelly. Kelly shows up looking for Robert. CC tells her he had bought her the horse. Kelly turns the gift down telling CC he had just taken one away from her. Kelly confronts Mason and hints that she knows everything.

Mack wants to mend his relationship with his sister. Laura apologises to Ethan. When he goes out she makes an appointment to get artificial insemination. Ethan tells Gina he wants to keep an eye on Laura till the child is born and then he will marry her and they will raise the kid. Gina finally agrees to become his mistress. They make love. Laura meets Mack at the Orient Express. A woman from the centre - Claire - runs into them. Laura tells Mack the woman knows her from the shrink's office and that she is crazy. Ethan is in a good mood when he goes home and asks Laura for a truce. Robert receives a mini-coffin with a blond doll's head in it. CC asks Kelly to come back home and they end up fighting. Robert asks Kelly to move in with him but doesn't tell her the real reason (to keep her close so he can protect her). Kelly finds the coffin Robert had thrown into the paper- basket and she freaks out. She then understands the real reason Robert had wanted her to move in with him. Kelly promises to make Robert happy. Boswell interrogates Sasha but she has a "memory blank" about the night of the explosion. Mason meets Craig in the elevator and the latter takes Mason's present to Julia (containing a strand of her hair and an intimate letter) and asks Mason why he was on the boat the night before. He threatens Mason if he should tell the police anything and is sorry that he can't pay back the money Mason had invested. Craig calls on Sasha at the hospital and tells her to give him a call as soon as she needs anything. Mason gives Sasha a plane ticket to Paris and she is moved, but worries about Mason. CC tells Mason they should throw a party to celebrate Sasha's leaving and Sasha overhears. She tears up the ticket and tells them she will stay in SB for a long time.

Mack is fired from the health club and Phyllis tells him she will help him find a new job. She finds an advertisement for a job in a polo club. Mack goes to the interview and is hired. Phyllis moves in with Mack and they celebrate. Eden and Sophia have a talk and Eden reveals that she had seen Nikki in Cruz's bed. Sophia tells Eden she owes Cruz an explanation. Cruz and his father have a talk and they end up fighting. Cruz tells Rafael that if his wife doesn't want to be with him, he is not going to beg. He then jumps at Nikki for not making any progress at finding herself an apartment. They end up kissing. Rafael comes to talk to Cruz interrupting (not witnessing) their kissing and sends Nikki away. Sophia tells Eden she shouldn't give up on Cruz. Rafael takes Cruz to a forsaken place where he could fight with his pride. Ethan insists on going to the shrink with Laura. Laura tells the shrink she hopes her marriage will work. Then Ethan has a tete-a-tete conversation with the shrink telling her he intends to leave Laura and wonders how she would take it. He is worried that she would hurt the child or leave with it.

Derek calls on Julia with breakfast. They talk about Julia's marriage. She is afraid her divorce will be a long one. Julia apologises to Derek and tells him she doesn't want to lead him on. Derek is very understanding. When Nikki is looking for Cruz Ric tells her to stop thinking of him. Henry shows up at Ric's bar, all beaten up, and tells them Kelly will be the next one. Robert assures Kelly he won't let anything happen to her. He goes to meet Augusta and gives Kelly his gun. Robert offers Augusta two million dollars for the microfilm of Tonell's codes. Augusta refuses to sell it telling him she'll wait for a higher bidder. Barr finds Ric with Kelly. Kelly had learnt about Henry and shares the information with Robert. Robert and Kelly slip out, Ric and Nikki are supposed to take the yacht for a ride. Nikki realises that Ric is in love with Kelly. Robert and Kelly call on Augusta, Robert takes out the gun and threatens her. Eden and Cruz pass each other just-just. Both cars go out of order. In the morning Cruz finds a white horse. Both Cruz and Eden think about their wedding in Pebble Creek. Eden enters the house when Cruz comes through the front gate. They walk around the premises without seeing one another. They finally meet on the beach. They figure out something had brought them together. They talk and Eden confesses she had seen Nikki in his bed. Cruz assures her Nikki was never with him. They're about to kiss (already in the house) when they feel the wind and hear somebody weep.

Robert gets the list after proving to Augusta he means business. Sasha tells Mason she can prove Julia had tried to kill her (on the boat). She has evidence (the strand of hair she had got from Craig, the remote control to Julia's garage etc.). Sasha wants half of the Lair. She is enjoying herself by torturing Mason and tells him to to take her to CC's party. Weird things happen to Eden and Cruz in the house. They get separated and each finds his/her set of their wedding clothes. They put them on and step into the mirrors. Eden gives Cruz back his ring and they make love. Robert makes a tape to go with the microfilm (so the cops would understand what's on the film). He tells Kelly he will leave town never to return. Kelly wants to go with him, prepared never to see her family again. Then Robert tells her he doesn't want her. He tells Kelly that Eden had always been there when they had made love. (To my mind it was pretty obvious he said these things to make it easier for Kelly to forget him, only Kelly bought the whole charade). Kelly yells at him and tells him what she thinks of him. Then she goes crying to CC.

The boy - Buck - tells Cruz and Eden that his sister had fallen into a well. Cruz goes to look for Hallie and finds her safe and sound. Eden and Cruz learn that the kids had run away from the catholique school. The Castillos take the children back to the school. Sasha insists on going to Julia's office when Mason and Julia deal with their divorce papers. Julia tells Mason in front of Sasha that he can forget about the divorce. Then she becomes frantic and throws Sasha out. Mason accuses Sasha and tells her that Julia is out of control. Kelly tells CC that she doesn't want to work for him and that she has no intention of getting involved with a man in the nearest future. CC had made plans for Derek and Kelly to have dinner together but she leaves before Derek comes. Nikki comes to the Lair and learns from Michael that he had been a priest once but now he has decided not to go back to that profession. Mason sees CC excited about Derek and guesses that the latter reminds him of Channing.

Mason and Julia make plans for Sasha. They talk but when Julia sees Sasha she slaps Mason. Mason asks Sasha to dance. Augusta sees the performance but since she doesn't know that that's all it is, she can't make Julia out. Derek invites Mack to the polo party. Mack asks Gina to be his date. Augusta and Gina exchange spicy words. Phyllis moves in with Gina. Cy calls on Phyllis and wonders why it's taking her so long to get the money. Sophia asks Kelly not to come to the party if she intends to make a scene with Eden. Nikki is at the party and tells Cruz Kelly had invited her. Kelly acts wild and out of control. She and Eden have an argument (Eden blames her for inviting Nikki to spite her) but when CC cuts in, Kelly leaves. She goes swimming naked. Derek comes to the beach and they finally meet.

Ethan has to leave and doesn't want to leave Laura alone. Laura promises not to kill herself and when Ethan leaves, she goes to the party, convinced that Ethan had gone there to meet Gina. Laura is spiteful with Mack and insults Gina. She offers her husband to Gina but the latter tells her that she doesn't want him anymore. Laura leaves angry. Gina wants to get a loan but the bankers still remember her failure in the cookie-business. Ethan comes home and asks questions. He had called and therefore knows Laura lies about being at home reading but he doesn't tell her. Julia tells Mason she's jealous for real. Mason is prepared to change the plan if it hurts Julia. Sasha walks in on them at the stables. Julia yells at Mason and mentions she isn't on medication any more. Mason explains to Sasha that Julia used to take pills for she saw nightmares. Sasha wants Mason to get her a part in Slade's movie. Mason makes a pass at Sasha. Sasha is ready to spend the night with Mason but the latter thinks it better if he left. Julia calls Sasha telling her she had had a nightmare and that she hates her. Sasha seems frightened. Marcos rushes Nikki into becoming a cop. Michael says he'll try to help Nikki to get to the exam the following day.

Phyllis steals one of Gina's cheques and gives it to Cy. Ethan finds out that Laura doesn't visit her doctor as often as she is supposed to. The doctor wants to put Laura to the mental hospital for inspection but they need Ethan's permission. Ethan wants Laura's approval before he decides. Laura tells him he would have to force her to go. And, of course, if she went he would have the money to keep her there for the rest of her life. Sasha refuses to leave town with Mason. She tells Craig it's more profitable to keep Julia out of prison. Sophia doesn't like the changes Steven is planning to make in the script. CC tells Slade not to change it (but someone wants him to rewrite the script).

Mason and Julia plan to drive Sasha into giving the evidence to Ethan so they could cut in and get it. Julia gets a sizzle from the lamp and Mason gets an idea. Julia tells him they're doing this to get rid of Sasha not to get together again. Mason gets an electrician to check the lights in the Lair, the latter does something with Sasha's microphone. Mason meets Sasha in the Lair, the latter is convinced Julia is trying to kill her. Sasha doesn't want to sing tonight but Julia shows up and "pleads" her to sing. When she does so, she gets a slight electric shock. Buck runs away again. Cruz promises Hallie to find him. Alfred interrupts Derek and Kelly's evening when he walks in with Buck. The latter mistakes Kelly for Eden for a moment. Later he runs away again from Derek's place and sneaks into Cruz's house. He shows himself and asks them to find parents for him and Hallie. Kelly goes to Ric's bar and asks him out but Ric has to take a rain check. Kelly and Eden have another fight. Alfred gives Derek the desk the latter had found in the basement of the orphanage.

Laura is taken to the hospital and she's not in a good mood. She meets her roommate Annie. Bunny calls Hunt as a mafioso and invites him to Vegas. Mack meets Candace Duvall and learns about Laura being in the hospital. She offers him money to disturb CC's team. Mack throws her out and later tells Kelly and Derek about her. Gina learns from Mack about Laura and talks to Ethan about it. Ethan tells her he still loves her. Gina tells him not to. Gina is looking for investors and Mack tells her to ask Augusta for the money. Kelly thinks Derek is on CC's payroll. Mason calls on Sasha. She turns on the TV and sees the news about Hunt being arrested. It's all part of their big plan. Sasha sends Mason away and calls the DA's office - Julia answers as someone else and Sasha falls for the trap. Julia then calls on Sasha and takes out a small gun (with blanks in it) saying she'll make her pay.

Mason interrupts Julia and Sasha and Julia accidentally shoots him. Julia is upset about killing Mason and Sasha asks her not to kill her and promises to take her where she holds the evidence. When they're gone, Mason gets up. Sasha gives Julia the evidence. Craig calls on Sasha and after she has explained what had happened he realises that they both had been fooled. Mason calls on Sasha telling her she should sell her half of the Lair and get out of town. He and Julia celebrate. Kelly calls on Derek, apologises and asks him to dedicate the evening to her. Brandon wants to help Buck and Hallie, he meets Buck at the children's home. Sister Allegra is still not helpful and tells Eden and Cruz she'll give Hallie away. Buck overhears it. He calls Cruz a liar and disappears. Eden asks Allegra why the kids didn't talk to her after the sister had spoken with Derek. Cruz finds Buck in the basement and swears not to tell anyone about his hideout. Buck has a photo of boys who had had a secret "club". They have a serious talk. Cruz learns that Buck's real name is Timothy. Alfred calls Derek telling him that Buck is missing and is probably in the basement of the orphanage. Derek leaves Kelly. The latter sits by the evening table when Eden calls on her. They end up arguing again. At home Eden tells Cruz passionately that they should adopt the kids after all. Cruz interrupts her saying he was about to suggest the same. Derek finds Buck's hiding place.

Laura steals a nurse's gown and Annie finds it. She tells Laura she will tell the nurses and then she will gain privileges. Laura puts on a threatening face. Eden and Cruz find Derek in the cellar and they also find the photo of four kids. Craig doesn't want to be partners with Sasha any more.

Sasha had followed Craig and sees him in some house. When she slips away she drops her bracelet and Craig finds it. He goes to the Lair to find her. Bunny lies for Sasha but demands explanations. Sasha doesn't tell him much and when she asks for a spare bedroom Bunny turns her down. Sasha calls Ethan. Laura dreams about shooting Ethan. Then she drugs Annie's drink. The latter falls asleep and Laura calls Ethan in order to find out if he will be home tonight. She is about to put on the nurse's gown when Michael drops by. Michael apologises to her and tells her how well she's doing. Laura sneaks out and goes home, she takes the gun but finds Ethan's bed empty. Ethan is waiting for Sasha in his office but leaves when she doesn't show up. Laura is on the outside and shoots when she sees someone enter. It was Sasha. Marcos "engages" himself with Nikki. And they "announce" it to Michael. Nikki thinks Michael is jealous. Julia and Mason have a business date on which they're both pretty clumsy and funny. And they end up kissing.

Cruz still doesn't believe there's anything mysterious about Derek. Eden sneaks into the orphanage and a new sister gives her some files. Alfred sees her compare the photo they had found to the one in the album. She asks Cruz for the information about a Gladys and then calls on her. Gladys recognizes Derek on the photo but not the others. Mr. Martin knew but he's dead. When Eden leaves we see Alfred (on the background) go after her (he had probably set it all up). Augusta thinks Julia is behaving strangely. Mason locks the freezer. Augusta and Julia have dinner and talk about Sasha. Mason joins them and asks Augusta to leave them alone tonight. CC and Sophia are happy for Julia and Mason being together again. Cruz asks Gina her shoe number and tells her they had found a footprint but that they don't accuse her. Cruz and Eden learn that one of Cruz's detective friends has just been found dead. Eden tries to get Alfred open up about Derek but fails. Brandon wants to go to the public school because it's cheaper. Phyllis finds a job for herself and Gina - as waitresses. Julia refuses to sleep in her bed. Bunny calls on them looking for Sasha but they say they haven't seen her.

Derek is with her when Gladys calls Eden telling her she remembered the names. Eden finds out that all the boys Gladys had suggested are all dead. When she tells Cruz, the latter is doubtful. Cruz's friend was killed by overdose of a drug called ice. Michael is ready to join the force again. Laura is surprised and worried because there is no word about the murder in the newspapers. Ethan and Laura talk about their marriage and Ethan, not in so many words, implies that she is no longer welcome in his home. Laura is upset, naturally. Annie had found the gun but Laura pretends she doesn't know who had put it there. Annie tells her she should get along with her because she knows everything. Laura asks the nurse for the separate room from Annie. Julia and Mason learn about the last moves Sasha had made from Bunny and promise him to ask around town about her. They decide to break into Ethan's office for it had been the last place Sasha had gone to. They have just found the bullet when Ethan walks in on them. Mason sends a wire from San Francisco to Bunny as Sasha.

Ethan buys Mason and Julia's explanation about being in his office to talk of Kelly's case. Kelly has her trial today and she doesn't want her parents to go with her. The judge CC and Mason know gets replaced at the last minute by "the Hammer". Kelly gets the maximum punishment but jail is replaced (for it's her first violation) with 200 social work hours and loses her driver's license for 6 months and she gets a $1000 fine. She doesn't want Mason to plead for reducing her sentence. After the trial Ric takes Kelly to Howie's where Gina works. Gina is mortified because of her job and hides when anyone she knows, enters. Mack meets Augusta and gets her to look at Gina's sketches. Julia and Mason ask Dante to help them find out if Hunt has a 38 mm gun. Ethan comes to the Howie's and even though Phyllis tries to get him out he sees Gina although Gina doesn't see him. Michael and Nikki are waiting for the results of their exam.

Laura is irritated because she doesn't see a word about the murder in the papers. She reads Annie's diary and learns that Annie had killed her husband. Annie admits to it proudly. She wants to see Laura kill Ethan and talks all sorts of crazy stuff which seems to frighten even Laura. She insists on going with Laura. The latter breaks into the medical room taking a bottle and a syringe. She then injects the stuff into Annie's chocolate. When Annie offers her the candy she takes one but doesn't eat it. Annie falls asleep. Dante is not much help to Julia and Mason. They call on Bunny who tells them about the wire he had got from Sasha and they advise him to audition new singers. Bunny tells them Kelly might know where Hunt had gone on the night of Sasha's murder. Stephen is not content with the kissing scene and does it over and over and over again. Both CC and Derek come to the set. Stephen tells CC he doesn't want him on the set, saying Sophia's family distracts her. Sophia tells CC they had done one scene 12 times. CC tells her to be careful with Stephen. Stephen at the same time watches the kissing scene over and over again. There's something wrong with the lights in the Orient Express and the Lair. Hunt joins Kelly in the elevator and it gets stuck. The whole city is dark. Julia and Mason freak out because the blackout causes their freezer to melt. Laura is under Ethan's car when Ethan comes but then the lights go out. (In her diary Annie had explained how she had killed her husband by messing with the brakes of his car).

General darkness in the city. Eden and Linda make a story of it. Linda seems to be feeling very ill. She takes ice and collapses. Eden finds the ice in her palm. She confronts Linda in the hospital and learns that she had got it from a Jane. Eden promises not to give her away if she goes to the rehab and sets a meeting for her with Jane. Kelly and Hunt decide to leave the elevator through the air-conditioning tunnel. Julia goes to the liquor store to get more ice in order to keep Sasha's body frozen. Hunt calls on them when they are in the garage. He opens the freezer (Julia is petrified) but doesn't see Sasha's body because of the new ice poured over her. Mason decides it's time to move the body. Julia starts to think Craig didn't kill Sasha after all. Cops learn that the darkness must have been a sabotage which started in the docks in order to cover somebody's actions. Marcos receives a delivery from a chopter. Rob tells Michael and Cruz he gets the ice from Jane. Laura gets back unnoticed just before the nurse looks into the room. Ethan gets into an accident.

Gina and Phyllis hear on TV that Ethan's condition is critical. Derek calls on Allegra giving her three more checks from three other donors. A nurse tells Laura her husband is in hospital. Linda arranges a meeting for Eden and Jane at Howie's. Eden doesn't tell Cruz where she's going. She meets Jane and they turn out to be schoolmates. Rob sits at the next table and overhears their conversation. Jane and Eden arrange another meeting at midnight in an alleyway. Rob calls Cruz telling him Jane has a meeting with some blonde (he doesn't know Eden). Laura lies to Annie that she had had nothing to do with the attempt on her husband's life. She plays on Annie's sympathy who feels for her because of Jamie. Laura is taken to see Ethan. Gina calls on Ethan just as Laura is about to inject him something. Laura wants Gina to leave, they fight, Phyllis butts in. Sophia and Stephen have an argument about the film when the former isn't happy with his ideas. They do the scene again. Sophia tells him she doesn't want to mix real life with that of a film.
