Cruz and Eden are shocked to see Ric in Santa Barbara. Kelly doesn't like Megan and doesn't like the fact that Mason gave C.C. permission to take her with him to the wedding.

Ric contacts the criminal Johnny Navarro. Julia and Mason are preparing their wedding day. Cruz promises his mother to help her with reuniting the Castillo family. Ric and Saundra meet each other and end up in bed. Laura promises Michael she'll support him. Cruz is shocked to see Ric and Saundra together.

Cruz is very angry at Ric. Michael tries to protect Laura against Leo Mitchell. Kelly doesn't want Gina to spoil the wedding. Gina tries to give Mason a last kiss, but Sophia locks her up in the closet. Mason and Julia finally get married.

Saundra and Ric are attending the reception of the happy couple. Cruz almost knocks down Ric when he is holding Adriana. Megan catches the bouquet of Julia. Eden finds out Ric's father is working in Puerto Vallarta and wants to go there.

Ethan realises that Laura has told the truth about Leo Mitchell. Heather and Celeste try to find Michael before Mitchell does. Lisa tells a unknown man she will have more information for him soon. Leo, Heather, Celeste, Michael, Ethan and Laura are wandering in the fog. Then a gun shot is heard.

Leo Mitchell has been killed. Greg decides to leave the city and gives Emily a goodbye kiss. Ethan offers his excuses and offers to go away together. Heather gets pains in her stomach. Boswell and Julia are thinking that Mitchell is still alive as Mitchell's body is gone.

Kelly tells Sophia about the troubles of Capwell Enterprises. Eden and Ric are keeping an eye on Mephisto, but get caught in his place. Megan is relieved about C.C.'s positive reaction about the news he is Greg's father.

Greg is upset because Sophia, Ted, and Kelly are negative about the news of C.C. being his father. Mephisto makes sure Ric gets deported. Eden succeeds to bribe a corrupt police officer who wants to get Ric deported. Mason realises someone has been looking through his desk. Kelly goes to Mexico.

Rafael tells Cruz that he saw Eden pack her things and drive away with Robert. Cruz's family goes to Mexico. Cruz tells Boswell to find Eden and Robert. Then he turns the Capwell guest house topsy-turvy without finding any lead. Laura tells Ethan that she doesn't like Phyllis' being his secretary for it gives Gina the reason for coming to the office more often. Ethan takes Phyllis and Gina out for breakfast. Phyllis makes an excuse and leaves. Gina spills some coffee on Ethan's tie and therefore buys him a new one. Laura doesn't like it. Laura and Gina have a serious fight in course of which Laura tells her to stay away from her husband and finally slaps Gina on the cheek. Phyllis reads the Leo Mitchell file and is surprised that the case has been closed. Augusta, Julia and Mason have an argument. Julia wants Augusta to give back the Capwell Enterprises if she should inherit everything. Augusta wants the hitman to find Robert very quickly for if he should show up to the reading of Tonell's will, she will lose everything. Kelly and Sophia have a talk and Kelly says she's not sure how she feels about Robert.

Laura and Gina fight about Ethan. They both wind up with a black eye. Phyllis reads the Mitchell file. Ethan mentions divorce when Laura shows up with a black eye. Nugent comes to Ethan's office because his wife had received a telegram about the Leo case. Laura sees him and is frightened. Laura tells Ethan to sleep with Gina and get her out of his system. Gina overhears the conversation between Laura and Ethan in the course of which she finds out that Laura had killed Leo. Eden calls Cruz while Robert's waiting in the car. Cruz goes to see Ethan and meets Phyllis who then finds his name in the file. Cruz tells Ethan he wants to investigate Barr's missing on his own terms. Cruz is called out because a man, Travis, wants to commit a suicide by jumping down from the eighth floor of the Capwell Hotel. Travis mentions a girl named Nikki. Cruz goes to look for her and finds her in a bar. He persuades her to come with him for a man's life was at stake and in the end she reluctantly agrees. Nikki tries to change Travis' mind but he pulls her out of the window onto the ledge. Cruz goes onto the ledge as well. Robert takes Eden to the only safe place he can think of - an abandoned theatre. He tells Eden that he loves her. They kiss.

Orient Express. Augusta offers her friendship to Sasha. Julia and Mason watch them from their table. Augusta plays grieving widow to CC and the latter admits to Mason and Julia that Augusta is quite a good actress. Mason tells Sasha to stay away from CC. Sasha threatens to tell Julia about their love affair but Mason is not afraid and says he is going to tell his wife himself. Augusta leaves Kelly in Tonell's office to look at Robert's things. The hitman, who is hiding, sees Kelly find a theatre programme "Phantom of the Opera". Eden finds with a start that she has left her wallet at home. Robert tells Eden how he had seen her and Cruz there five years ago and how Eden hadn't recognized him. The hitman comes to the theatre Eden and Robert are hiding in and finds Eden. Cruz with the help of Nikki changes Travis' mind about killing himself. Kelly tells Cruz what she found and that she is determined to find Robert and fight for him. Sophia calls Cruz and asks him to go with Kelly.

Cruz goes after Eden. Kelly tells Cruz he shouldn't give up on Eden. Kelly finds Eden's car and wonders why the clothes are there. The hitman manages to get the police go after Eden and Barr. While running away with Barr, Eden meets a fortune teller who tells her she could lose everything. Cruz catches the hitman and the latter falls down. Kelly sees Robert and Eden kiss.

The day of the reading of Tonell's will. The hitman turns out to be dead. Eden sees Kelly watching and goes after her. Kelly bids Cruz to take her back to SB. Cruz meets Barr in the bar and tells him the hitman was dead. Phyllis slips a note saying "Mitchell killer found - Laura Asher" under Laura's door. Laura calls Phyllis and asks her to come to the Lair. Gina tells her mother to stay away from Ethan's marriage, explaining she doesn't want Ethan that way. Laura tells Phyllis that she has a strong marriage. Augusta calls on Gina, makes some spicy remarks about her taste and tells her she intends to get the house back and throw Gina out. Ethan chooses jewels. He gives Gina an early Christmas present (most likely the earrings he bought). Sasha calls on CC. Mason tries to buy her out. Augusta is told that Robert may be dead. She and Sasha have a fight, each trying to diminish the importance of the other. Barr shows up at the reading of Tonell's will.

Sophia tells Kelly not to throw herself on Robert. When Robert shows up at the reading of the will CC yells at him wanting to know where Eden was. Tonell had left a video-tape as a will. He left the house, the car and $50,000 a year to his wife; a house in Palm Springs and $100,000 to Sasha; 1 share of the Capwell Enterprises to CC and everything else to Barr. If anything was to happen to Barr before the reading of the will, Augusta would inherit his bit. Sasha turns down Mason's offer for the second time and tells him she was planning to stay in SB and become a respectful citizen. Julia and Sasha have a spicy argument. Eden and Cruz argue. He says that everything was over between them. Eden tries to change his mind. Cruz leaves, sits on the beach, recalling how he had told Eden he wouldn't walk away as his father had done. Sophia tries to comfort Eden but is not much help. Barr sees Cruz unexpectedly on the beach, but they don't exchange a word. Robert enters Eden's house without her opening the door. Kelly walks in on their kissing again. Kelly blames Eden for being spoilt and not caring two straws about anybody else. They have a serious argument. CC and Mason call on Eden. Eden snaps at her father to get out if he didn't like the way she was leading her life. CC yells at Eden, she gets upset and when Robert re-enters she departs with him. Cruz meets Nikki and they play pool. Nikki asks Cruz to go to a party with her but he turns her down.

CC and Sophia, Julia and Mason as well as Carmen, Rafael and Chip light a candle for Cruz. Paddy tells Cruz he's an angel. The latter laughs at him and goes to see Julia who doesn't recognize him and points a gun at him telling him somebody had taken Samantha away and Mason wasn't there either. Cruz then goes home, meets his mother and Sophia who don't know him either. Sophia tells him she's married to Tonell. CC has lost everything in a fire at the rigs and Mason and Gina live together a lustful life. Eden is with Robert Barr but when they meet with Cruz, Eden tells him she has a feeling that they know each other somehow. Ric gets shot in the bar. These are the events which would have taken place hadn't Cruz been born, says Paddy. When Cruz (back to normal) gets home and sees Eden with the children he says that it is all he needs. The whole family come to celebrate with them and bring them a bell as a present. Cruz tells Chip that every time a bell rings it means that an angel has received its wings.

The family celebrates Christmas. Rafael expresses his happiness and gratitude because he is able to spend Christmas with his family after a long time. Ethan tells Gina he loves her. Brandon falls from his bicycle. Laura makes another threat letter and tells Ethan someone had left it outside. Kelly receives the toy train she had ordered to give Robert as a Christmas present. Emily gives Greg a surf board and they leave for the sea to try it out.

Kelly asks Robert to come to the New Year's Eve Party at her father's house. She tells her father she wants big party. Julia asks Augusta her detective's address. Sophia tries to throw Augusta out but Mason tells her he had invited her. Mason fakes a phone call, leaves the party and breaks into Augusta's apartment in order to find the incriminating photos. Julia breaks into her sister's apartment as well with the same purpose. She finds the photos and sees Mason. CC had invited Sasha. He asks her to sing. Ric, Cruz and Nikki come to the party as well. Barr sees Cruz with Nikki and remarks that Cruz hadn't wasted any time in answer to which Cruz hits him and Robert falls into the Christmas tree. Eden calls Cruz to wish him a happy New Year, Cruz also congratulates Adriana on her birthday. Laura tells Ethan that the new blackmail letter had demanded $50,000. Ethan tells Gina he will resign. Gina imagines how Laura would blame Ethan for the murder and tells Ethan not to go through with it. Laura tells Ethan before he was supposed to go public that she had murdered Leo, not shot him in self-defence. Ethan doesn't say anything to the reporters.

Augusta and Julia have an argument concerning Mason's affair with Sasha and about the fact that she (Augusta) had hid it. Rafael tells Cruz that he loves his grandchildren very much, that Cruz-Eden love is a miracle and that the children will always "link" him with Eden. Renfield shows Robert and article about Kelly's new job as a vice-president of his company. When Kelly appears he tells her (Kelly) that the new job is not what she really desires for. Cruz tells Nikki that she finally may go and then Nikki talks to Cruz at the bar about her plans for the future. Robert tells Kelly to check all the staff of the company, but her attention is caught by the stables, which belong to Robert. Mason comes to Julia, but she tells him that she hates him (whether he believes her or not). Then she asks Mason to leave. CC and Robert have a spicy argument concerning Robert's behavior in the life of the Capwells. CC also offers Kelly a job in Capwell Enterprises, but she turns it down. Cruz asks his father to give Nikki a job as his assistant. Kelly visits the stables and gets interested in the horse called Dark Victor. Bunny asks Julia to help his cousin who is going to divorce. Augusta persuades her to accept the proposition. Robert finds out where Kelly was by the smell of her hair and is very angry with her. Bunny and Julia enter the plane, but at the last moment Bunny disappears and it turns out to be a trap for Julia settled by Mason. He tells her that everything is over between him and Sasha and that he loves her (Julia), but she turns him down again. Something becomes wrong with the plane. Kelly repeatedly visits the stables and hides herself when someone else comes there too. The man turns out to be Robert Barr. Mason and Julia jump from the plane and make a successful landing somewhere in the mountains.

Eden wants to go back to her job in TV. She explains to Sophia that she can't tell Cruz she has no feelings for Robert. Kelly apologizes to Eden and tells her she will stand by her, but only because she didn't choose Robert. Cruz offers to help Nikki but wants to know about her past. He goes out with her. They kiss. Michael calls on Julia. Mason moves into the Capwell Hotel. He has a "tombstone" made for his marriage and makes a total fool out of himself. He is drinking, CC asks him not to. Sasha takes Mason home but refuses to stay the night.

Eden's appearance on TV interrupts Cruz and Nikki's kissing. Barr and Kelly have a serious argument. Kelly and Henry at the stables see Travis, Nikki is spying on him as well. Travis messes around with Dark Victor. Barr shows up. Kelly discovers the box Travis had taken out of the hiding place and they find a notebook with Tonell's codes Barr later sends to Cruz. Mack argues with Gina. Laura tells Ethan they could leave together and wouldn't have to pay. Brandon videotapes Bunny and tells Bunny to ask Laura for the money as if he were a gangster and she his girlfriend. At first Laura has a terrified look but cools down when she hears it is a game. She calls Ethan and asks him to come to the Lair. Gina stays with the suitcase with $ 50,000 at the Orient Express. Laura goes there to get the suitcase. She makes phony phonecalls to Gina and eventually manages to get the case and drop Gina's earring - the one Ethan had given her. Ethan asks Cruz if anyone has bothered him about the Leo Mitchell case. Brandon shows Mack the tape. Mack calls on Laura to comfort her. Gina calls Ethan that the money is gone. Laura tells Ethan he must be blind not to see Gina is behind it. Eden asks Cruz to come back.

Augusta moves in with Julia. Julia sends Mason's things to his hotel. Mason wants Julia to let him in, Julia refuses. He breaks his way in. Julia tells Mason she won't take him back. Mason wants to see Samantha and Julia doesn't let him. Mason drinks again in the OE. Cruz is waiting to get a warrant. Nikki comes to find her keys. She sees the box Barr had sent to Cruz. Laura and Ethan have a fight. Cruz interrupts them when he comes to get the warrant. Gina warns Mack about Laura. Ethan shows Gina the earring he had found in the Orient Express and they figure out Laura had planted it. Ethan confronts Laura but she denies. Ethan is furious and tells Laura he will file for the divorce when this is over. Barr tells Kelly to follow his orders but Kelly is worried about the horse and slips away. She tries to stop Travis from taking the horse. Cruz comes and sends Travis to the police station. Kelly admits she had been working under false name, Robert confirms her story. He wants to send Kelly to Greece but she refuses to go. Nikki calls on Cruz and tells him she had heard about Travis. Travis takes Nikki into hostage and leaves the police station.

Kelly loses Dark Victor because Augusta wants him (Tonell had owned it personally and so it belonged to her). Robert tries to buy it but Augusta doesn't sell. Travis hits Kelly to the head when she's at the stables with Dark Victor. Nikki shows up at the stables and calls for help anonymously. Augusta comes too and wants to take the horse away. Cruz suspects that Nikki had called for help. Nikki walks in when Cruz and Rafael are listening to the tape, plays it but shows no signs of recognition. Robert calls on Kelly at the hospital. Cruz and Greg walk in on Mason's videotaping himself. Mason asks for their help to win Julia back. He tells Cruz he's never going back to his previous life without Julia. Mason recommends romance tactics to Cruz as well. Julia puts on the TV and it doesn't shut down (Mason is talking). Greg delivers the 12 dozen roses Mason sent and Mason sings "Raindrops are falling" behind the window. Julia lets Mason in after hearing him sing for a long time. Mason wants Julia to tear up the restraining order. She does so finally. They blame each other of being childish. Ethan and Laura have another argument. Laura asks Mack to dance with her. She had seen Ethan with Brandon (like father and son) and tells Mack it's over between her and Ethan. Mack asks if she's pregnant. She answers "Not after tonight". Brandon walks in on Gina and Ethan's kissing. Mack sees Ethan at Gina's and tells him about Laura. Mack gives Bunny one of the marked bank notes he had got from Gina. He is arrested. Ethan shows up at the hospital and tells Laura not to go through with the abortion and takes her home. Nikki had put on Eden's gown, Cruz gets upset and tells her to take it off. Nikki makes a scene about it.

Mason sends a violinist to Julia. The violinist follows Julia everywhere. Julia finally breaks his violin stick. Mason asks CC to help him set Sasha up and make her leave town. Augusta tells CC she has the horse Robert wanted to give to Kelly. Cruz takes Nikki's glass for fingerprints. Cruz and Eden want to put Chip to preschool. Eden forgets about the meeting, Cruz calls her, the woman interviewing them is surprised they are separated for they seem so at ease with each other. Eden comes to see Rafael's act. Nikki asks Rafael to pay her in cash not by cheque. Cruz learns about Nikki's past. Her name used to be Maria Nicoletta Gonzalez and she had done time for robbery. Cruz wants to talk to Nikki, Eden sees him take her away. Cruz confronts Nikki about her past. Ethan gets another letter and lets Mack go. Gina asks Ethan if it's possible Laura might be behind the blackmail letters. Ethan tells Laura about his plan and asks her to stay in his office.

Brandt Moss (from TV) lets the world know Derek Griffin and Robert Barr were in San Sebastian prison at the same time. Eden tells Robert she didn't know about it. Nikki explains to Cruz how she hadn't had any idea her partner was going to rob the gas station. She and Cruz have an argument. Cruz asks all sorts of questions but Nikki tells him she would answer if he admitted he has been attracted to her from the beginning. Cruz sets a trap for Nikki leaving an envelope with some information about Travis' whereabouts on the table and Nikki falls in peeping into the envelope. Cruz follows Nikki, he is told that she intends to go to Acapulco. Nikki gets on the plane, Cruz is stopped by the guard. Some cop had been injured and Eden's worried. Cruz comes to the TV station to let Eden know he's alright and sees her with Robert again. Eden calls on Robert. She tells Robert she had chosen Cruz. Robert tells her to stay out of his life from now on. Kelly overhears their conversation. Ric gets a job at docks. Kelly offers Ric some money to keep his eyes open. Ric gives the money back, saying he'll do it for free if she told him more about it. Eventually he agrees. Ethan leaves the suitcase in Ric's bar and sees Laura show up and take the case. He, Gina and Mack trap her in Gina's house. Laura runs away. Gina finds the money in her basement. Ethan doesn't know what to do for Laura is pregnant. Mack finds Laura and tells her she has a lot to live for, Laura tells him she wants to die. Laura confronts Ethan in the office. Ethan explodes and tells her he feels sorry for the child.
